A Hot Stone Massage is a unique experience that gives you a total sense of relaxation. Smooth, heated basalt stones (black volcanic rock that absorbs and retains the heat well) are used to encourage your body into a state of relaxation.
What Happens During a Hot Stone Massage?
Before you arrive, the stones are sanitised and heated in water.
Massage oil is applied and using stones of varying sizes your body is receiving the benefit of rhythmical massage strokes combined with the delicious warmth and energy of the heated stones. As the stones cool, they are replaced with more hot stones.
I may also place heated stones in specific points along your spine, in the palms of your hand, or between your toes to improve the flow of energy in your body.
The warmth expands blood vessels and relaxes your muscles, which allows the nervous system to be effectively sedated.
